Today we will behold Jesus as Creator and Savior
SCRIPTURE COLLECTION
Today's Scripture Passages
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Notes & Reflections
Many scientists speak of the beginning of all things. They speak of Evolution, Big Bangs, mud pies, and aliens with big eyes. Yet do they truly know? Are they divulging what other men, in other times, were never able to ascertain? I don't believe so, because they were never there. There is no scientific method, except for maybe time travel, that could reveal such things.
Time travel has been a long dream for mankind. The question of "what could we do if we went back in time?" has been ringing in man's imagination for centuries. Indeed, we could go back to the beginning if such a machine would allow it. We could answer all our questions.
As Christians, we don't need to live in expectation for such things because we have something better than a time machine; we have the very Word of God. We know where the universe came from and we know where it is headed. We know that the world is not self-existent, but that God created everything. More than this we know that he made it through his own Word.
And in the passages above we find that his Word had a name. His word was the very Christ of God. The preexistent one.
This Christ existed before all time and space. The very one that hung on that wooden cross was the forger and creator of a universe so vast even our greatest minds are laid in bewilderment when they look at his handy work. The very one who had nails driven through his hands was the very one who was with God in a perfect and holy union. In him was life; eternal life. He is the one who holds everything and everyone together. Without him we are hopeless and nonexistent and one day everyone, whether king, ruler, president, governor, mom, dad, boy, and girl, will bow their knees to this great God.
Theology Deep Dive: Ex Nihilo
Genesis 1 tells us that God made everything through speaking in into being. He didn't need materials or have a limited supply. He spoke and things appeared out of nothing. This is ex nihilo.
Creation was in fact a miracle. It didn't happen through science or according to natural processes. It was an act of a great God. It is beyond what man can explain or understand, and all that is in creation is telling of a God filled with glory.
This creation was made through the Son of God, and it happened in an instant. This is truly amazing.
Is God knowable even though he is so powerful?
The answer is yes!
God has freely chosen to reveal himself to mankind through what he has made and through his Word, the Bible. He has given us minds in order to understand and inquire about who he is. Indeed, we were made for him and to know him.
