Notes & Reflections
Blessed God!
It was God the Father that moved on our behalf. He is the one whom, out of love, sent his beloved son (John 3:16).
Jesus embarked on his mission, because of God's love for sinful men and women who were in rebellion against him. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ gave us his beloved Son so that he might die in our place. The righteous for the unrighteous.
This was the supreme and ultimate example of God’s love.
Let this God and Father be blessed forever.
His mercy is great and it is the wonderful cause of our salvation.
Ephesians 2:4–7 says,
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
The mercy flowed from his great love and it covered spiritually dead men. It spilled over them and gave them life. He has “caused us to be born again.” He alone accomplished this great work through his Son.
We did nothing.
Indeed, we have been saved by grace through faith so that none may boast.
We, who were separated from God, unable to save ourselves, are now brought close. We are now men and women with a living hope.
Jesus is alive!
Let our great God and Father be blessed forever!
Why did God save us when we were dead in sin?
Simply because of his great love and mercy towards us. He redeemed us through Christ alone, apart from any of our works. Put your faith in Christ alone and his work on your behalf to save you!
